Hello Ashton Pointe! Just minutes away from Ashton Pointe Apartments is the lovely coastal island, Hilton Head. Hilton Head Island is always buzzing with activity, from the locals and tourists. This weekend join in the celebration of scrumptious, authentic Cajun style cuisine.

The Cajun Food Festival takes place this Saturday, October 16th, from 11a.m. – 5p.m. Enjoy a day complete with some of the best tasting Cajun food, the ultimate play area for kids, and a business expo for the adults. And of course live music for all ages. Admission to this event is only $5 and children 12 and under are free. Come out and eat up!

Hello Ashton Pointe! The South Carolina Lowcountry is rich with history and culture. The Coastal Discovery Museum strives to teach residents and tourists about this area. The museum holds several events throughout the year that are fun and educational for the whole family. This weekend you can participate in their Children’s Photo Walk. Hunting Island State Park is less than 20 miles from Ashton Pointe Apartments and the city of Beaufort. It is one of the most popular parks and beaches in the state of South Carolina. With more than 5,000 acres of greenery, sandy beaches, streams and marsh it is no wonder Hunting Island attracts more than 1,000,000 visitors per year.

Hunting Island is an ideal summer escape as well there are plenty of activities to take advantage of year round. Fishing and crabbing are favorites of the locals. One can also get a glimpse of Hollywood cinema history at Hunting Island. Well-known films such as Forrest Gump and G.I. Jane were filmed in the park’s lagoon. While there you may even spot wild animals such as raccoons, deers, pelicans, and much more. You can also, take a stroll along the beach and climb up the spiral staircase to the top of the lighthouse that over looks the Atlantic Ocean. Musically talented Beaufort adults and youth are able to take their hobby to the main stage with the Beaufort Orchestra and the Beaufort Youth Orchestra. This season is full of 5k runs, cancer walks, marathons, and bike tours. On Saturday, October 16th the city of Yemessee will be hosting the Prince William Cycle Tour. See some of the most charming scenic views of South Carolina as you ride through Beaufort County, Hampton, and the Prince William Parish. Cover between 35-62 miles of roads across the Lowcountry.
