Do you love to cook in your apartment in Beaufort, SC? Does everyone love your cooking? Do you have a signature dish? Are you willing to put it to the test and go head to head with one of Beaufort's local chefs in a blind taste test competition? If so, Main Street Beaufort announces the Downtown Plate Crawl: Home Cooks vs. Local Chefs, Saturday, August 16th in Downtown Beaufort from 11:00am - 3:00pm.
At Main Street Beaufort's second Downtown Plate Crawl, home cooks can see how their signature dishes stack up against those made by local chefs. The chefs receive a list of dish submissions and select one they would like to challenge. At the event on Aug. 16, tasting stations will be set up throughout downtown, and the public can purchase wristbands to blind taste each dish and vote for their favorite.
At last year's Plate Crawl, home cooks beat local chefs in five out of eight dishes.
Want to be a taster? Wrist bands are available which will include tastings at each tasting station and will go on sale at the Main Street Beaufort office Thursday, July 31, 2014. Wrist bands may be purchased at the event, but only 150 will be sold so purchasing in advance is encouraged.
